Hannah will address the education and career path of Rabbi Salis Daiches, rabbi to the Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation 1919-1945. It will investigate his Jewish philosophy and his leadership in the context of the Anglo-Jewish community in the first half of the twentieth century.
Hannah Holtschneider is Senior Lecturer in Jewish Studies at the University of Edinburgh, and is currently working on a project on Jewish migration to Scotland, 1880-1950.
