February 28th: Gershon Silins: The Revolution in North American Synagogue Music

This talk will give a close view of the revolution that transformed synagogue music in North America in the 1980’s and led to significant changes in music styles in synagogues, first in North America, and subsequently in the United Kingdom as well.

Please note that this meeting is at the non-standard time of 2pm.

Gershon Silins is cantor and member of the Montagu Centre Rabbinic Team at Liberal Judaism. He previously served as cantor in many synagogues across North America and has taught cantorial studies at the Abraham Geiger College Cantorial School in Berlin and the Levisson Institute in Amsterdam.
