Sarah will present three comics from Graphic Details: Confessional Comics by Jewish Women, the first exhibition to focus on the contribution Jewish women have made to the genre of autobiographical comics. The talk concludes with some images of Sarah’s own artwork from her forthcoming graphic novel, The Book of Sarah, inspired by the silence of her namesake, the Matriarch, Sarah.
Sarah Lightman is an artist, widely published writer and curator. Currently, Sarah is researching a PhD at University of Glasgow on the re-appropriation of Biblical iconography within traumatic narratives.
